I have experienced many "ceiling-gazing nights" trying to think appropriate terms for Crop Rotation in isiZulu. Maybe I should just make up those two words. Let me dream one last time. If the ancestors don't speak to me tonight, I might just have to speak without thinking......

If I move things around in the same area, I let those things believe they have been borrowed space to occupy for a certain period. To address this action the elders might say " ubhande mtsthelekwano"  loosely translated, this would mean there is one resource which has to benefit everyone of us in the space/ area. So would it be appropriate to refer to CROP ROTATION as TSHALO MTSHELEKWANO since, crops (izitshalo) would be planted to take turns in the same space?

Maybe someone has addressed this already and I haven't looked hard enough, please help...........
